Bestsellers: HBG has 15 titles on the New York Times Bestseller list dated June 10, including one #1—Dear Madam President by Jennifer Palmieri (GCP) stays in the #1 position on the Business Bestsellers (Monthly) list. HBG’s distribution clients have eight titles on the list this week, including one #1—Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Marlon Bundo with Jill Twiss (Chronicle) hangs onto #1 on the Children’s Picture Books list. Media Blitz: The President Is Missing by James Patterson and President Bill Clinton goes on sale on Monday, June 4 with a blockbuster retail, marketing, and publicity campaign that will make it the book of the summer. National media hits lined up for the duo include an Entertainment Weekly excerpt, and appearances on CBS Sunday Morning, the Today Show, CBS’s Late Night with Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, PBS’s NewsHour, ABC Live with Kelly and Ryan, NPR’s All Things Considered, a USA Today interview, reviews in the New York Times, People, USA Today, the New Yorker, and much much more.

International Design Award: Tony Brown’s Elvis Strait to Jesus: An Iconic Producer’s Journey with Legends of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, and Gospel Music (Center Street)

is a Gold “IDA” (International Design Awards) winner, winning honors for best printed book.

Theakston Crime Novel Award: The Long Drop by Denise Mina has made the shortlist for this year’s Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award, which celebrates “the very best in crime fiction” and is open to U.K. and Irish crime authors. The winner will be named on July 19 and will receives £3,000 (about $3,995) and a handmade, engraved beer barrel provided by Theakston Old Peculier (a unique addition to one’s trophy shelf).
